I may not be a fan of her work, but I’m SOOO down with what she has to say:
Most publishers aren’t very good at constructing publicity. They can use traditional models, but can’t think outside set genre parameters. They should hire us artists and writers as PR people - some of us are really good. Both advertising and fiction require originality and the ability to think fast, and some capability to extrapolate future trends; sci-fi authors make their whole living off it. -Donna Barr

It’s just dawned on me that I’m exhausted; I’ve sized the last two pages WRONG. At least it wasn’t the last 25 pages, though that would’ve sucked more than working in a cubicle for a living. I dread the thought of working in a cubicle–though I have a theory about cubicle workers and the ranks of fandom_wank. Too boring to share, though.
