First, I Have no obligatory catspam–sorry, no time–but it’s Friday friends, and I have a plane to catch this afternoon.
I do have Roulette spam…that’s always a good thing.

This week’s been loaded with ups and downs—but the downs aren’t too severe. ((^_^)) Some time ago I submitted some projects to Del Rey—but recently I learned that my work doesn’t quite fit in with their ‘conservative’ image, and so—my GloBL projects won’t be published with them anytime soon. (^_^) A friend of mine did get an offer for one of his projects, and I’m very happy for him. On the submissions front, I did submit some working GloBL projects, Roulette being one of them, to a European publisher. Hopefully that will work out! On Dramaqueen, I know I mentioned that I’d been updated about what was going on, by my editor—but I too am bound by a disclosure agreement that prohibits me from revealing issues regarding RUSH and the company—so please, no more emails. They make me uncomfortable—also, no emails apologizing for making me uncomfortable—that makes me more uncomfortable.

I sent out another Media Kit for
Gadarene, this time to Xtra!, and sales for the book are starting to pick up at Amazon, which I’d like to thank all the gracious reviewers for. I’m glad you enjoyed the book, and ecstatic that your reviews are reaching readers. Cryptic portion of post:
A weird ‘blog-stats’ thing for me, I scratch my head at the thought of anyone who considers me the bane of their publishing experience, keeps coming to my blog and checking it out. You’re not coming by to see if I’m talking about you, are you? Please don’t bother—I’ve been hurt and so I’ve moved on. I suggest you do the same.

Caroline’s preparing a new cover for the German and Polish versions of
Only Words. As soon as I’m allowed, I’ll talk about where and when this title will be sold in Europe. In other European news—my short for Fireangels should be out by August [this seems to be when the publisher releases the annual
Lime Law series.] My story,
Ungestellt, is drawn by Niki Smith—her drawing style is getting better with each new job she takes on. Wow. A few pages of
Ungestellt can be found at
Niki’s web site.

On the Amazon front, I’ve been wrestling for months with Amazon to please lower the price of the
KINDLE version of Gadarene. When I first uploaded it, there was no option to set the list price lower that what’s indicted on the UPC of the paperback copy. They changed this immediately [
likely after some complaints—not everyone gets an ISBN for their eBook, and Amazon was going around harping on how your KINDLE version didn’t need an ISBN].
So I went in and lowered the price to $5.99 However, this hasn’t been reflected in over three months, and no one is buying a KINDLE book for $10.99.

Seriously, why does Amazon take so damn long to update simple things? It’s frustrating. As my distributor for
Gadarene, they’re doing great. When they lowered my production cost [because they raised their percentage take to 40%] CB and I gained about $3 more per title sold, on top of what we were getting. This helps—it also motivates us to consider joining forces again on another gay horror title. Muwhahahaha!

With all this talk of Josei in blogs lately…why is no one talking about Jo Chen’s
The Other Side of the Mirror
. G*d, this book is made of WIN. Did everyone talk when I wasn’t paying attention??!

On the personal front…no one should take nature seriously—no one.
The Duchess and Duke of Anderson,
unable to take nature, seriously.
