Jinkies, It’s Monday
The Nutri-System thing is working out ok. The food is relatively tasty…but the portions are…small. They remind me of the T, B, and A rations we had over in Iraq. Seriously, if I wanted to eat crap like this again, I’d reenlist. >_<
I shouldn’t gripe too much about the food during Shield, because according to some older veterans I’ve spoken to—we had a much better ration program then they ever did. I didn’t know this at the time, but it seems that we kids in Shield/Storm were the first soldiers to have ‘3 full meals’ a day. Before that, troops were given a portable MRE [meal, ready to eat] and [maybe] 2 hot sit-downs. If you want to know the ins and outs of food service, when I was in, just google it, there’s bound to be something out there—I don’t really feel like grousing about military food right now, (^_-) I have enough problems being miserable with the Nutri-System stuff!
Workish: Only one of the plots I submitted was chosen for the shooting season. :/ I suspected as much, with the way I kicked those plots out within 72 hours. I guess I need more of a notice then, ‘hey I need your scheduled springboards before the holiday weekend’, on Wednesday night. To top it all off, the other writing gig isn’t going smooth either—it’s a creative-thing, not a work-thing. Funny isn’t easy.
I’m devoting next week to working on my Artemis doujinshi [I’ve been assured that DC doesn’t care about certain “kinds” of fan-comics.] I’ll have three full days to dork around, and that’s when I’m going to complete the outline, and then start the script. Also next week—I send out the first quarterly report to C.B. for Gadarene, along with her share of the royalties. I was looking over the checking account for Gadarene and I noticed that Laura Carboni hasn’t cashed her cover-art payment yet. (>_<
That damn woman! She gave me attitude when I sent it, because she doesn’t feel she should be paid for the cover art; mainly because, we’re friends. I told her, she did the job of a cover-illustrator and I’m paying her for it. This doesn’t mean we stop being friends. I’m sending her a nag email again, to get her to cash it.
The Polish pages for Only Words are going to be in my email tomorrow morning. I wasn’t mad; I was actually relieved about the update. (^_^) I hate not hearing anything; not contacting people when things are due, or when you’re supposed to contact them—is the ultimate in uncool. Just saying…
Time to read my email and surf, will see some of you on the IMs.
