Ok, I have directories on my server space, that hold pages of my work that I’m submitting to publishers for their consideration. One of these is Only Words, [I had it online for foreign publisher reviews], Roulette [because I'm also searching for a foreign publisher for this] and the other is the first chapter ink of Games With Me. All three are considered ‘yaoi’ titles–BUT THEY AREN’T OPEN FOR YOU TO HOTLINK AND SHOW PEOPLE IN YOUR LOCKED LJ OR POST ON YOUR INTERBUTT SITE AS ‘OMG-GAY COMICS PICS’!
I found two separate people hot linking from these directories, and so now I’ve removed them [except for Games With Me--it's inks only, with no dialogue] if people are willing to buy into your crap that it’s un-lettered manga from Japan, then they deserve you as their porn source…they’re stupid.
The pages are set up to be viewed by potential submissions editors–they’re not indexed by Google or anyone else, and so YOU KNOW THEY’RE NOT UP THERE FOR YOU…especially when my publishers have the material you’re gawking at, for sale.
I’ve taken down the index pages for Roulette and Only Words, and now need to send up a follow up email to the publishers I’ve contacted, in order to tell them that the page samples are at a new URL. :/ It’s going to make me look pushy, most likely, and seem like I’m nudging them for an answer–when I’m not.
