I spent a total of $62 at this auction. I lost on two lots, missed one lot I really wanted [I was out packing my car!] and scored the FIND of the century!!!!!!11 For me anyway…
They had the entire comic shop divided into lots, each section of slat wall was assigned a lot #, and the usual wall held about five rows of pamplets and trades. I saw nothing there in the way capes comics– [and this guy sold NO manga] so I focused on Aliens, which I adored collecting years ago. The stories were cool–of course now, I have the Ominibus editions, but this place had walls loaded with some great series runs [Aliens film, Aliens/Marines, and AVP pre-film]–ones that aren’t collected yet, and I had to have…now.

But my big find in the Aliens lots I purchased was this: The Dark Horse Presents issue where the Predator kicked a bunch of Nazi ass! I loved DHP – ah, the days of BW comics from Dark Horse … other than manga. 0_0

But my best find? This was the sweetest coup of all for me…I bid on a huge lot of DC Hero Clicks [my daughter loves them, and so do I]. It was in a box, on the floor–it seemed like the just cleaned off some of the glass counters and just loaded them into a box and put a lot sticker on it. The box I bid on had all of the Teen Titans, and some other DC clicks, and I won it for $7.50. In the box, beneath all the Heero Clix crap, was THE WONDER WOMAN BUST BY TERRY DODSON. I quietly spazed in the corner of the shop–whipped out my phone and took a pic for Mr. Gynocrat. That’s how jazzed I was. 4 RLZ. Will take pix and post in my personal diary–with me holding it and stuff, because I’m a dork like that. Yep, I got WW bust by Dodson for $7.50. Heee!
Massive losses included some Star Wars figures that my son wanted– hey, there were older fanboys with more money than me today, sorry. There was a Halo poster my son desperately needed, but I lost out to this guy who was buying for his new store. He made out, this guy. He got 6 pieces of slat for $30 and tons of shelving and rounders. I missed the bidding on a lot of 50 long-boxes, and eight packs of comic sleeves, 4 packs of manga [paperback] sleeves, 2 packs of magazine size sleeves, and two packs of backings. They guy who wont, got all that for only $15. I wanted to kill myself–but WW find made me all better.
All in all, it was ok…
