I have work-writing to do, so I won’t be on much today, or this week.
I have a doctor’s appointment this afternoon–which is really bugging me. The last time I spoke to my doctor about my heelspur issue, I was told I’d likely need a cane.
I’m 37 years old for fucksake, I shouldn’t need a cane! I did finally go out and get one and I admit, it has helped things tremendously. >.>
In other sadly hilarious news, my Amazon Associates payment came in over the weekend; for the last sales quarter. According to the report, 4 people clicked through my Astore and purchased Only Words from ‘Third Party’ vendors. Of those sales, I got 6%. Wow. Amazon emailed me my sales figures, and paid me something…for a book I wrote. Now if only Iris Print could do that. 0_o. As of today– Carrie hasn’t heard word 1 from Iris Print–and second quarter INFO is VERY PASTDUE.
Also– yesterday I made mention of the Shamo situation in Japan, but I close comments here [yes, because I'm a power mad bitchface who wants no interaction with anyone] but Ed from Mangacast put on his brave-panties and emailed me some background info:
I personally don’t know how these two got together for Shamo, but I do know a bit about Izou’s past. He is a professional novelist. TV/film screenplay writer and movie director. He wrote the screenplay for Akira (directed and created by Otomo) and BlackJack. He also wrote a few dozen other screenplays and directed have a dozen movies through the years.
Izou is also the writer and producer for the Shamo movie that strangely enough debuted not long after the two broke up.
I do know of writers who were also their artists editor. Urazawa Naoki for example didn’t write most of his manga. He is often directed by his editor Nagasaki Takashi (who sometimes choses to be credited for his work… as was the case with PLUTO and some of his work for IKKI and Morning magazines)
