It’s much like American fan mail, only– it’s from Japan.

This is unusual for me because I get mail like this from Americans, or sometimes Europeans – but the only Japan letters I tend to get are from other artists that I’m friends with, and I never hear from Japanese readers…until today. I know I sell books there, I sold some myself to vendors and individuals, so I’m not completely alien to at least a dozen ‘amecomi’ readers.

I got a ‘stash’, so to speak. (^_^)

First, I figured out that these lovely little flowers were letters! Yep, a pink one and a blue one…and a few more pages on some very pretty Yun Kouga stationary. Lots of mini-candy as well…

The letters thanked me for sending along the purchase of Diplomatic Immunity and thanking me for a copy of Only Words. {{The person mentioned they were thinking of buying it at Amazon when they purchased DI, and I just saved them the trouble: I figured if they were into gay comics; why not send them a GloBL!}} The letter is great—it shares with me their thoughts on both books [the reader adored Felicia in DI, because she loves ‘Ane-san’ type characters] I love writing them, that’s for sure!

She also sent me two cult-status manga that have since been made into a TV show. It’s called Fuuma no Kojiro. By looking at the manga, I love it! It’s got that old school style artwork – the style I always loved in Star Blazers. Can’t wait to check out the DVDs, even though Japanese TV really isn’t my thing—it’s the thought that counts. {Hey Ed…got a DVD Player?}

LOL! Look at the ads for weight equipment in this tankobon!

Also, she expressed her apologetic sentiments over the Iris Print situation, she said she bought A Strong and Sudden Thaw because she liked Only Words—and wanted to see more from Iris. [Lolz] and she plans on buying Gadarene [I’LL SEND YOU A COPY IF YOU ARE READING THIS!!]

This package made my day, thank you so much! <3
