Will update flikr when I can…
What kind of fuckery is this? I guess when you come from a background where no one has ever done anything massively destructive to your culture or your people– you can convince yourself that you’re ‘really good people’ and ‘mean no harm’. Really Really. You’re not good people. Really Really.
I’m leaving Sunday morning at 10:00, from Austin to New York, and then New York to the UK. It’s 12 hours to the UK from NY. 0_o I don’t get it, we’ve adopted most of our cool advancements from Star Trek [small flip-top communicators, that thing Uhura sticks in her ear, swivel chairs, remote controls, flat screen monitors, KINDLEs, stirrup pants, touch-screen interfaces] but where the hell is transporter technology!!! ((>_<)) Barring any international incidents, I’ll be back in ten days—and yes, I’m going to miss out on FCBD. My daughter has promised to get something cool for me—
I was hoping to clear up a minor publisher issue before I left, but didn’t. I decided to let my manager handle it. If I emailed my pub at this point, my seething rage would fly through the computer screen, and my rage never helps anyone. I tried out for a membership with the Erotic Authors Association; I’ll have to wait till I get back to hear anything on that. On a completely squeeworthy note, for the month of April we sold more copies of Gadarene on Amazon, than we did last month. I was worried about this month because we had no fresh linking reviews or media coverage—nor do we yet have any small bookstore or eBook sales. But, it turned out ok! Let’s hope this trend continues…
Here’s something weird…Laura just got back from the UK, and now I’m flying out. I wanted to touch base with her before I left, but I think she went right back to work, so I don’t want to bug her with email. :/ If you’re reading this Laura, email me–so I know you’re not busy.
Oh, and Amelie, email me so I know you’re not dead.
This is not a pub bashing post…if you’re here to see if I’m talking ’bout yur company, stop right now, and leave. I’m posting to talk about a future trend that I see happening now, as someone who’s submitting to companies and trying to get published.
Morning close ups are never attractive…
